Assessment of the attitude and practice of healthcare workers towards management of hospital waste in general hospital Katsina, Northwest Nigeria

Healthcare waste represents a major public health issue, especially in developing countries. Among healthcare categories, Waste materials the form of sharp ends are one most hazardous. Exposure to needle stick injuries can lead blood-borne pathogens, therefore management should be done effectively well. The study was conducted assess attitude workers towards management. A descriptive through employment structured questionnaires employed elicit information from hundred and fifty (150) General Hospital Kastina. Descriptive statistics analyze present data generated. Results generated show that types facility associated with risks hazards if not properly treated.
